Vintage Pair of Decorative Vases by Empire Ware - 1930s - Rare Find - Unusual - 17 cm Tall

Rare vintage decorative vases by Empire Ware. These are absolutely beautiful and I am selling them as a pair because they would look so elegant on a mantlepiece or display cabinet.

These very special pieces are in great condition for their age and have clearly been looked after well. If you look very close up, you can see crazing (more to one than the other) which is to be expected with a piece of this age and does not affect the look at all. Empire Ware often used the drip glaze technique so that all colours run into each other, the result is fabulous.

Made in May 1935 as can be seen on the stamps on the base of the vases. It also states England 8 and the number 947. No chips. They have been hand made/painted so each is unique. When looking closely at these pieces there are areas of shine as if when they were originally made they had a gloss shine to them. You can hopefully see from the photographs. Alternatively, it is just the way they have been made and really do look fabulous. The colours are also splendid, beige, browns and blues.
