Vintage Mason's Ironstone "Regency" Pattern C4475 - Cake Plate circa 1940s

This is a vintage cake plate made by Mason's Ironstone in the 1940s. The pattern is "Regency".

The plate has been finished with lead-glazing and as a result you will see from the picture that there is a network of crackling all over the plate. This shows the age of the plate. This crackling is down to the fact that the glaze does not form a natural bond with the body of the plate and has cooled at a different rate. There is a chip to the top right hand corner of the plate and brown markings within the glazing as can be seen by the photographs.
